My Journey
When I first graduated, the job market was rough. I’ll never forget applying to a Technical Writer internship and being told they wanted at least 3 years of experience. This might not normally make someone bat an eye (everyone has horror stories of job hunting), but it did give me a rude wake-up call.
If I couldn’t pick up an internship of all things, where did that leave me, a fresh-out-of-college grad with 0 years of experience? So, I decided to roll up my sleeves and start networking. And, to my surprise, it worked. A few short months after college, I started picking up freelancing gigs.
Ever since, I’ve built my career around copywriting and crafting digital strategies through a user-empathetic lens, mainly for web and in-product experiences.
Along the way, I taught myself the ins and outs of UX content strategy, content marketing, and SEO. Today, I work remotely with global teams, right out of my home office near Portland, OR.
On my off days, you’ll find me tinkering with a new plant-based recipe, strength training, reading, or playing video games.
